Finally back home but wondering if things are ever going to slow down. Work just seems to be never-ending.
But I found a few moments to post on the work of artist Jim Denevan. These are no little doodles in the sand. Imagine you're high up in the sky looking down on the beach--can you see the tiny little jogger in the upper left hand corner? That'll give you the right perspective for the scale of his work.
I love the geometry used in his work and that he creates something so unexpected with only nature itself.
From what I've read about Denevan, he tries to convey an appreciation for nature as well as the fleeting passage of time. Because he creates art in sand, in this case, it will eventually wash away. And he's ok with that.
I found Denevan through a calendar produced by Greenmuseum.org.
